At the Madison County Fair in Ohio, children who stopped at the tent for the Madison County-London City Health District received dental advice from the Tooth Fairy. The Tooth Fairy was dressed in a dental-decorated gown, and she quizzed and taught visiting children about their dental health.
After a child spins a wheel, the Tooth Fairy asks a question related to oral health depending on where the wheel stops. For correct answers, she gives the child a new toothbrush. Dental health information taught inside or outside of school is reinforced when parents and caregivers emphasize the importance of good dental hygiene habits at home.
The Tooth Fairy, aka Paige Stover of West Jefferson, is a senior at Otterbein University in the pre-dental program. Stover also presents dental health information at schools, so children visiting the tent at the fair recognize her from her in-school appearances, further increasing her popularity.
